You know how ornery she can get. Her latest comment "just say I have two artificial knees", and let it go at that. I could do that, but don't think it is the right way to handle the situation, and she bugged me for quite a while for me to write this, so using my Davis charm, I will bother the hell out of her until she gives in, which might not be for a while.

I find that it is hard to do this as I do not know how well you are aware of the circumstances involved, (and I do not want to sound like I am bragging) so will have to start at the beginning. This all took place the year that I retired from Outboard Marine Company (OMC) 1999.

Kind of rolly polly don't you think but much
better than when I dropped to 118 pounds.
During the late summer, early fall of 1999 to build a small cabin on some property that we had purchased about 60 miles west of Beloit on the Pecatonica River. We started building the day after Labor Day.

Two real pretty fish, wonder who landed them.
We had a Park Model Camper out there, but we wanted to build a small cabin thinking it would be more practical for us, would have more room, and increase the value of the property. It must have worked because out taxes are now higher than a Camel's back.
I was working (more in the way than anything I think) with a building contractor, Brian Metz, from that area. We were in the process of building a 2-bedroom cottage with a full basement. I was staying out at the property in our camping trailer.

I would stay out at the trailer 4 days working on the cabin would and return to Beloit for 3 days. We started on the cabin on the 8th of September, 1999.

For a cabin, it's all right,
2 bedrooms and a full basement.
